Spa Cuisine at Ananda
Food is an integral part of rejuvenation and forms a quintessential element
of Ananda philosophy. The spa's basic guiding principle says - A spa should
not necessarily be looked at as a place to diet and lose weight but should
instead be a 'Way of Life'. Our approach and philosophy on spa-food is a healthier alternative to regular meals consumed while on leisure travel without having to go hungry.
The basic foundation is: low-calorie, high nutrition meals, exotically flavoured and aesthetic in presentation for the guest to fully enjoy. Each menu has been devised by creating dishes that provide maximum nutrition and a high and constant release of energy.
When devising menus, the spa's in-house nutritionist is consulted to calculate the nutritive values of dishes and to give advice of the effects on the body when lowering certain energy intakes. A well calculated low-fat, low-sodium and high-fibre diet is the corner stone to Ananda delicacies.

The Tea Lounge
Located in the Viceregal Palace, the Maharaja's Tea Lounge is a warm, romantic setting for an afternoon cup of tea and light snacks, taking you back to the by-gone days of the British Raj and royalty. The lounge walls are adorned with the portraits of the erstwhile Maharaja and the other political dignitaries who visited Narendra Nagar during the reign of the Maharaja. Of particular interest and mention are the signatures and pictures of Lord Mountbatten, the last Viceroy of India. While the lounge quietly tells a story of the days of yore, relax on the lounge sofas or admire the rich, brocaded tapestry, dating back to the royal times. Enjoy spectacular sunsets or appreciate the beauty of the well-manicured gardens. Savour the cup of tea at the royal card tables, which have been retained from the time of the Maharaja. Exquisitely crafted to perfection, these card tables have the enclosures made of glass. The tapestry and the curtains exude the warm and inviting hues of yellow and blue, both traditional colours of Indian royalty.

Spiritual Fitness
The ancient Hindus were known to be highly intellectual and sensuous people. One of their cardinal principles was that there is no dividing line in human personality between the mind and the body. The mind is body and the body is mind. Also, that if beautifying the mind is to beautify the body, the converse is equally true. Beautifying the body is to beautify the soul.
It is with this philosophy, together with the tools of Ayurvedic science, that Ananda's line of skin care products has been created.
The Ayurvedic system of medicine provides a fundamental understanding of the five basic elements of nature. These elements express themselves into three operating principles within the physiology referred to as the three Doshas -Vata, Pitta and Kapha. Individual constitution, which is acquired at birth, is expressed through Ayurveda in terms of these three doshas and Ayurvedic medicine draws upon its rich traditions of herbs and roots to effectively balance these. Each product at Ananda Line is steeped in this philosophy.
